Your plan's validity starts when the eSIM first connects to a network in Egypt, not when you buy or install it. You can safely install it at home before you travel.

It works on unlocked, eSIM-capable phones, including iPhone XR/XS and newer, Google Pixel 3 and newer, and Samsung Galaxy S20 and newer. To check, dial *#06#: if you see an EID, your phone supports eSIM.

After purchase, you will receive a QR code by email. Scan it with your phone's camera to install the eSIM on your device. The eSIM activates, and your plan's validity starts, when it first connects to a network at your destination, so you can install it before you travel.

Your QR code arrives by email right after purchase. Install it before you travel, while connected to Wi-Fi:

1. Open Settings → Mobile Service (or Cellular) → Add eSIM.
2. Tap Use QR Code and scan the QR code from your email. If you can't scan it, tap Enter Details Manually and type the SM-DP+ address and activation code from the same email.
3. Give the new line a label such as "Travel" and keep your home SIM as your primary line for calls and SMS.
4. When you arrive, choose the travel eSIM for Mobile Data and turn on Data Roaming for that line.

No. Each QR code installs on one device only, and the eSIM can't be moved to another phone once installed. Don't delete the eSIM from your phone after installing it.

Yes. WhatsApp stays on your existing number. The eSIM only provides the data connection, so your chats, contacts and number don't change.
